Injured Reserve




I hit a major snag in the challenge on Tuesday. I must have been a little too ambitious doing jumping jacks and came down wrong on my left knee. The same knee I strained playing basketball in college. Not. cool. The pain was instant and I almost didn't finish the workout. Almost.

The rest of the day my knee was straight cussing at me. It didn't want to walk. It didn't want to bend. It didn't even want any pressure applied to it. It just wanted to scream and cuss and be mad. So I had to make a decision that I didn't want to make. I had to take a day off. *gasp*  I didn't work out yesterday and most likely I won't work out today. 

As much as I wanna be like Isaiah Thomas and "ball on a sprain" I can't. It's not smart and it's not even necessary. This isn't the NBA Finals or the World Series or even a Rec League. I'm doing this for me. I want to be able to finish this challenge. Hopefully these two days of R.I.C.E. (rest, ice, compression, & elevation) and some Advil will do the trick. If not, I'm gonna order a new set of knees (maybe the Ciara model a la the "Ride" video;-)

So as I sit here numbing my knees every hour, I cannot wait to get back at it. This challenge has fueled my competitor's spirit and now that I'm 23 workouts in, I can't stop now! *tries to Diddy bop, but can't. knee still hurts* *sigh*
